On the occasion of world tourism day, Tavisca Solutions, a travel technology company, is organizing a day trip with the children of “Maher”.
Being a part of the travel and tourism fraternity, in the past years tavisca celebrated this occasion in-house.
However, this year the organization decided to contribute in a small way to try and open up the joys of the world of travel to children from the local orphanage. The 200 people strong organization feels that contributing to social responsibilities should be one of the fundamentals of a young enterprise.
The company is taking well directed actions to encourage a positive impact through its activities on the surrounding environment and the local community as Kaustubh Latkar, former General Manager tavisca says: “Technology creators rarely gets a chance to help those who do not have means to travel and to explore the world around, I am happy that tavisca could do something about it on the occasion of world tourism day.”
Tavisca has decided to take the opportunity to reach out to the children of “Maher” and celebrate the world tourism day with them on a day trip to the zoo and the national snake park located in Katraj, Pune followed by a short interactive session to talk about the world and history of tourism. The excursion will be a fun filled experience of the outdoors and at the same time provide a learning experience of places, people and animals that authentically represent the history and environment of the City of Pune.
“Through this excursion, the idea is to, let the children experience the joys of travel and outdoors, and at the same time learn about animals, understand their habitat and realize the importance of conserving the natural world” says Anup, former COO tavisca.
“I am really glad to take up this initiative along with our CSR team ‘Prayash’, the idea behind this is not only creating a sense of social responsibility among us, but also trying to create an opportunity for few children to see and experience the stories and lessons they learn in the classroom” says Puspanjali Kar, former head HR tavisca.
Date Of excursion: 6th October 2013
Place: Katraj Snake Park & Zoo
